Fishing Rods and Tackle

Most experienced fishermen tend to bring several rod and reel combinations with them and a large selection of tackle. The novice and intermediate fisherman generally prefer less gear.

A good light or medium action rod will suit your needs. Fishing line in the 8 lb to 12 lb test category is sufficient.

Spiderwire fishing line has become quite popular, and recommended by many.

As for fishing tackle, most anglers have a favourite lure or two, later in this email series we provide a handy check-list of recommended fishing tackle that have proven quite reliable.
