How to Catch Trout

Lake Trout are among the most challenging catch of the summer. Soon after the ice goes out, Lake Trout go to depths of 40 to 80 feet. You'll need a heavy rod and 25 lb test line if jigging, or a trout rod if you are on a big, deep lake where you may troll.

Brook Trout - An excellent fighting fish, but it takes skill and patience to catch. It is best to fish for Brook Trout in extremely fast water. Bring an assortment of smaller, weighted lures.
